What is an NFT?
An NFT (“Non-Fungible Token”) is a digital asset that is verifiable on blockchain technology. Assets include artwork, music, or in-game assets such as unique avatars. Because they are unique, NFTs are becoming sought after as collectibles.
When something is fungible, like a dollar bill, it is equivalent to, and can thus be exchanged for, any other dollar bill. In contrast, a non-fungible token is a unique asset in digital form that cannot be exchanged for any other NFT. This means that every NFT is a 'one-of-a-kind item. NFTs are transferred from one owner to another using blockchain technology, which creates a digital trail from seller to buyer that verifies the transaction. This encodes the unique ownership rights to the buyer (new owner). The physical world counterpart would be a unique collectible asset such as a piece of art, for which you might have a certificate of ownership attesting to its authenticity. The NFT with its blockchain technology replaces the need for certificates of ownership. There are even some NFTs that use blockchain technology to create a digital ownership certificate for a unique physical asset, though this is currently not common. NFTs became a popular investment in 2021, even though they've been around since 2014. As cryptocurrency investing exploded, so did the idea of taking certain digital assets and selling them to investors to buy online.
"RUBIK" Collection of KURAR
The artist KURAR releases on February 28, 2022 and for the first time a collection of 555 NFT “Rubik”. Each NFT of the collection will be different and sold 0.35 ETH (ETHEREUM Blockchain).
This NFT is more than a JPEG. By acquiring a Rubik NFT, holders join a family that shares the love of art and innovation.
All the buyers of each NFTs will receive a print signed and numbered by Kurar (value 300-500$) and a chance to win an original canvas of KURAR (signed, unique edition).
Who is KURAR?
KURAR is a French street artist who fell into the graffiti world in the late 90's. For 10 years he has painted and has worked on 3D lettering, volume, and colors. With time and experience he diversified different techniques including: Graffiti, Stencils and Collage, to eventually focus on stenciling projects. Through his work on canvas, KURAR manages to deal with current topics and encourages us to put our vision of society into perspective. By mixing antique characteristics with contemporary details, KURAR tackles sensitive issues such as war, religion, alienation and mass consumption with poetry and provocation. The use and representation of childhood is one of the recurring points, part of the artist's signature. He cleverly uses this symbol of innocence to contrast with the satirical and provocative significance of his representations. Since 2013, KURAR experienced a remarkable evolution marked by a solo show at the Onega gallery in Paris. He has since exhibited his work in galleries around the world particularly in New York, Los Angeles, Dusseldorf, La Reunion, Berlin, etc … His artworks tinged with black humor and nostalgia serve the relevance and the consistency of his messaging, for the satisfaction of a broader public.
