Angel Otero

Angel Otero is a contemporary Puerto Rican artist born in 1981 in Santurce. He is known for his abstract works combining painting, collage and sculpture. His signature technique, "oil skins," involves painting on glass, then peeling off the dried paint to reassemble it on canvas, creating richly textured compositions. His works explore themes such as memory, identity and cultural heritage. Otero divides his time between New York and Puerto Rico.
