Javier Calleja, born in 1971 in Malaga, is a Spanish artist renowned for his large-eyed childlike figures, combining innocence and irony. Inspired by folk art and manga, he works in painting, sculpture, and publishing. His works address themes such as loneliness, introspection, and social criticism, often with a touch of humor. Calleja has exhibited in prestigious galleries and collaborated with brands such as Lladró. He currently lives and works in Shanghai.
