Collection: Mel Ramos

Mel Ramos (1935–2018) was an American painter and a major figure in Pop Art. Born in Sacramento, California, he studied at Sacramento State University before becoming an art professor. His iconic works blend sensuality and consumer culture, depicting female pin-ups integrated into commercial products such as soda cans and candy. Ramos has exhibited at prestigious museums such as MoMA in New York and the Guggenheim. His work, both playful and critical, questions the commodification of the female body in consumer society.
