Métro, Boulot, Dépôt is a tour de force of Maye's draftsmanship — a large-format risograph print that reimagines the iconic French expression of urban fatigue as an act of airborne defiance. A masked figure in a long coat and cap rockets upward from a hyper-detailed cityscape rendered entirely in black and white, case in hand, spray can trailing, legs dissolving into the upward thrust. Below, a sprawling metropolitan panorama unfolds with obsessive precision: train lines, platforms, elevated walkways, buildings layered upon buildings, the whole infrastructure of the daily commute compressed into a single vertiginous view from above.

The title — a play on Métro, Boulot, Dodo, the French shorthand for the soul-crushing routine of urban working life — replaces sleep with the depot, the terminus, the end of the line. Maye's protagonist doesn't accept that destination: he launches himself out of the system entirely, propelled upward by the spray can itself — art as escape velocity, creativity as the only exit from the loop. The image is simultaneously an homage to manga and graphic novel tradition, a piece of social commentary, and a love letter to the city rendered with extraordinary technical precision.
