Brian Calvin Collection – Floating Portraits, Vibrant Colors, and Contemplative Figuration
Explore our collection dedicated to Brian Calvin, an American artist renowned for his stylized and fragmented portraits, characterized by a vivid palette, elongated faces, and gazes frozen in a strange timelessness.
Influenced by Californian culture, pop painting, and comic book aesthetics, Calvin creates silent and hypnotic human figures, often in extreme close-up, as if captured in a moment of suspension. His approach to contemporary figuration breaks from narrative: here, everything is suggestion, suspended emotion, and economy of gesture.
This collection includes works on paper, limited edition prints, and exhibition posters, tracing the singular journey of an artist whose visual universe oscillates between disembodied realism and graphic saturation.
Exhibited in major galleries (Almine Rech, Le Consortium) and featured in important international collections, Brian Calvin represents a generation of artists boldly and subtly reinventing figurative painting.
