Shaina McCoy Collection – Memory, Identity, and the Art of Gesture
Discover the expressive world of Shaina McCoy, a contemporary American painter celebrated for her deeply emotional and tactile approach to portraiture. Using thick impasto layers and vibrant color palettes, McCoy paints figures whose faces are intentionally obscured, transforming anonymity into universality.
Her work draws inspiration from family photographs, Black cultural memory, and personal heritage, reimagined through lush, textural brushstrokes. Each piece evokes tenderness and nostalgia, while questioning how memory shapes identity and belonging.
This collection brings together original paintings and limited editions that highlight McCoy’s unique fusion of figurative expression and abstraction — a poetic exploration of what it means to remember, to feel, and to connect.
