Beethoven is a complete set of four color screenprints on Lenox Museum Board, executed in 1987 and published by Herman Wünsche. This set is numbered 58 from the edition of 60, plus 15 artist's proofs. Each sheet bears the signature in pencil of the Executor of the Estate of Andy Warhol and the publisher; three of the four sheets are additionally signed by the printer on the stamped certificate of authenticity on the verso. The blindstamp of the printer Rupert Jasen Smith is present on each impression.

The Beethoven series stands as one of Warhol's most refined and culturally resonant late works — a meditation on genius, legacy, and the power of image. Executed in the final years of his life, the series applies his signature screenprint technique to the iconic portrait of Ludwig van Beethoven, transforming a canonical image of Western cultural history into a vibrant Pop statement. Through bold fields of color, graphic flatness, and serial repetition, Warhol draws an implicit parallel between the immortality of Beethoven's musical legacy and the mechanisms of fame, reproduction, and cultural mythology that defined his own artistic vision.

Printed by Rupert Jasen Smith — one of Warhol's most trusted and long-standing collaborators — and published by the renowned Herman Wünsche, this set carries an impeccable production pedigree. The large format (101.6 × 101.6 cm per sheet) and the richness of the color screenprint on Lenox Museum Board give the complete set a monumental presence that commands attention in any collection or institutional context.

One of the defining figures of twentieth-century art, Andy Warhol's works are held in virtually every major museum collection worldwide, including MoMA, the Tate Modern, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh. Late editions such as Beethoven, produced in strictly limited runs and bearing the authentication of the Estate, represent some of the most sought-after works in the print market today.

The set is in excellent condition.
