Published on the occasion of Damien Hirst’s landmark exhibition Cherry Blossoms at Fondation Cartier in Paris (2021), this original poster represents the artist’s first major solo show in France. Six different posters were created for the event, each highlighting the exuberant energy of Hirst’s new body of work.

The Cherry Blossoms series reimagines Impressionist and Action Painting traditions through explosive color, thickly layered paint, and a playful embrace of beauty and ephemerality. In Hirst’s own words, the works are “flashy, messy, and fragile,” embodying both excess and spontaneity while celebrating the fleeting magnificence of nature in bloom.
