Sette is a color screenprint on Arches paper, executed in 1988 by Victor Vasarely — the founding father of Op Art and one of the most celebrated and widely collected artists of the twentieth century — signed and numbered from the edition of 250, published by Galerie Lahumière and Georges Fall in Paris, and catalogued as Benavides 1055.

The choice of Arches paper — the premier French printmaking paper, produced in the Vosges and prized across the world for its exceptional surface quality, weight, and archival stability — gives Sette a material presence and chromatic fidelity of exceptional quality, entirely consistent with the demanding optical requirements of Vasarely's visual language. The precisely calibrated color relationships, geometric forms, and optical tensions that define his practice are here rendered on a support of outstanding archival permanence and tactile authority — a combination of technical ambition and material refinement that places this impression among the most accomplished works in his late screenprint production.

Executed in 1988 — the same year as Olla (Benavides 1054) — Sette belongs to a concentrated period of late production in which Vasarely brought the full maturity and systematic precision of his practice to a final, sustained engagement with the screenprint medium. Published jointly by Galerie Lahumière and Georges Fall — his primary Parisian gallery and long-standing publisher — the work carries a production and institutional provenance of the highest distinction, catalogued as Benavides 1055 in the definitive reference for his printed oeuvre.

That same systematic engagement with geometric form and colour continues in Ustoek (1990), a large-scale screenprint from the final and most mature phase of his print production. A rarer state can be found in Hokaido (1984), justified II/L from an exclusive roman numeral series bearing the publisher's blindstamp — both available now at Lynart Gallery.

The work is in very good condition.
