Description:

Ronds dans l'eau (2022) is a resin sculpture from Seth — the Paris-born street artist and muralist known internationally for his monumental paintings of children, executed with the precise, flat graphic style he developed across walls in over sixty countries on six continents. The figure — characteristic of Seth's visual universe — carries the quiet, contemplative energy that distinguishes his work from the more agitated register of much street art: a child, absorbed in the act of creating ripples, the gesture of dropping something into still water and watching the circles expand — a metaphor for creativity, for impact, for the way a single small act propagates outward into the world.

The painted detail on the top of the head — Seth's signature compositional choice in this sculptural format, allowing the image to be read from above as well as from the front — gives the work a spatial dimension that flat murals cannot achieve, the viewer's perspective becoming part of the work's meaning. In resin, Seth's graphic style — flat colour, clean outline, the simplified anatomy of childhood rendered with the precision of a master draughtsman — translates from wall to object without loss of authority.

The signature is engraved directly into the sculpture rather than applied — a mark of craft and permanence that elevates the work above the standard convention of a signed label. Presented in its original box.
